Frequently Asked Questions
How is my hourly rate calculated if I enter a monthly salary?
We divide your monthly salary by your hours worked per week × 4.33 (the average number of weeks in a month), giving an equivalent hourly rate. Everything else is calculated from that number.
Is my salary or purchase data sent anywhere?
No. Every calculation happens directly in your browser. Nothing you type — your pay rate, item prices, or names — is transmitted to a server. See our
Privacy Policy for details.
Where is my "Worth it" history stored?
It's saved locally in your browser on your device, so it's there next time you visit. It's not synced across devices, and it stays until you clear your browser data or delete individual entries yourself.
Can I rename or delete something I've logged?
Yes — open your history, then press and hold on any item to rename it or remove it from the list.
Do I have to name what I bought?
No, naming an item is completely optional. If you leave it blank, it just shows up as "Untitled item" in your history.
Why measure things in hours instead of just showing the price?
You already know the price — that's not new information. Converting it into hours of your life reframes the decision in a way that's much easier to feel and act on. It's the same math, just a more honest unit.
Does the app work the same on all devices?
Yes, it's built to work on any modern phone or desktop browser. Your history is specific to whichever browser and device you use it on.
